Who am I?
Hello!
My name is Alley and I like to make things.
Originally from the United States, I started my career in the arts twenty years ago as a printmaker, combining screenprinting, linocut, and illustration.
Over time I started a small business, creating and vending one-of-a-kind hand-printed clothing at craft markets. Wanting some decorations for my booth, I started to play with polymer clay, making little animals, and I discovered that I adored creating little sculptures in clay.
And so I decided to take a series of ceramic courses, and over time I started replacing my clothing with ceramics in my booth, combining my printmaking and illustration skills with traditional ceramic handbuilding techniques.
Six years ago I moved from Portland, Oregon to Rennes, France, at first intending to support myself by illustrating and teaching English, but over time I found that I missed working with clay too much. And so in the summer of 2021, I relanced my ceramics business and what you see here on this site is the results.
